Q: What is proxy server?

Q: Browser and proxy server?! Why?
A: By default, your browser application browses the internet directly and not through proxy. You may have many potential purposes using proxy server to browse the net and send request through: To speed up access to resources, be anonymous, apply access policy to network services or content and much more.

To browse through proxy you need to manually switch the proxy in your browser application. Each browser has its own place to perform this action; it is usually under the Tool menu. After enabling proxy setting, each browse page will go through the proxy server.



Q: How can IE Proxy Switch help me?
A: IE Proxy Switch can help you by saving you time, instead of switching it manually, IE Proxy Switch doing it with just 2 clicks. IE Proxy Switch can hold unlimited number of proxies in a list, so you don't need to enter the proxy details each time, just add or delete you proxy from the list to manage it. This application support more then one browser, so when switching proxy you switch the proxy of all supported browser.
Q: Which browsers are supported?
A: This proxy switching tool can be used on: Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari and Maxthon2. For the moment this tool not support Firefox & Opera but we are working on it.

A: Like other tools of Soft-Net, IE Proxy Switch is free to download and free to use.

 

 

How to use IE Proxy Switch?

IE Proxy Switch is very easy to use, and understand.

The main windows show you all you need so let’s go over it:


Add proxy to list:

With IE Proxy switch you can add proxy in just 3 steps:

  1.  Press the “Add”  button
  2.   In the popup window fill in 3 fields:
    •      Name:  Enter any unique name for the proxy (e.g. My local Proxy)
    •   Proxy address: Enter the proxy address as IP or URL (e.g. 124.10.10.15 / www.myproxy.demo)
    •   Port:  Any port between 0-65535 that your proxy uses.
  1. Press “Save” to add the proxy to the list.

 


Enable / Switch proxy:

2 Clicks to enable or Switch proxy

  1. From the drop-down list select one of your configured proxies.
  2. Press on the   button to enable the selected proxy
    • At the status bar you will see the current proxy changed:

 


Disable Proxy:

  1. From the main window:
    1.  From the drop-down list select “None” Options.
    2. Press the “V” button.
  2. From the Icons Tray Bar:
    1. Right click on the IE Proxy switch Icon
    2. Select “Disable Proxy”.

 


Minimize to Tray:

 

You can minimize IE Proxy Switch to Icon Tray so the tool will not interrupt your work. To know which proxy is currently activate, just go over the icon in the tray bar.

 

To do so, just click on the minimize button:

                  

 


Delete Proxy from the list:

  1. select the proxy you want to delete from the drop-down box.
  2. Press the "Delete"  button.
